Ranked 10th are three players with the same total of 188 goals: Giuseppe Signori, Alessandro Del Piero, and Alberto Gilardino. All three are Italian football legends. Among them, Del Piero is the most iconic, spending the majority of his career at Juventus and remaining loyal to the club even during their difficult period in Serie B.

9. Kurt Hamrin - 190 goals

One of the few foreign players on this list, Kurt Hamrin spent most of his career in Italy, making nearly 400 Serie A appearances for five clubs: Juventus, Padova, Fiorentina, AC Milan, and Napoli during the 1950s and 1960s. His greatest success came later in his career at AC Milan, where he won the Serie A title in 1967/68 and the European Cup in 1969.

8. Ciro Immobile - 201 goals

Ciro Immobile is the only active player on this list. He holds the record for most goals in a single Serie A season, scoring 36 goals in 2019/20. That achievement earned him the European Golden Boot, making him the first Serie A player to win the award since Francesco Totti in 2007. Immobile has also won the Capocannoniere award four times, in 2013/14 with Torino and in 2017/18, 2019/20, and 2021/22 with Lazio. He spent the prime years of his career at Lazio, where he became a club legend.

7. Roberto Baggio - 205 goals

An immortal figure in Italian football, Roberto Baggio was known for his creativity, technique, and iconic ponytail. In a league famous for strong defensive play, he stood out for his elegance and skill. Across more than 400 Serie A matches, he scored 205 goals. The peak of his career came in 1993, when he won the Ballon d’Or after leading Juventus to UEFA Cup glory.

6. Antonio Di Natale - 209 goals

Antonio Di Natale is another Italian legend whose career reached its peak after the age of 30. He remains the only player in Serie A history to score more than 100 goals after turning 30. Di Natale also scored at least 20 league goals in four consecutive seasons and won the top scorer award twice, in 2009/10 and 2010/11, both with Udinese.

5. José Altafini - 216 goals

José Altafini scored 216 goals in 457 Serie A matches. Nicknamed “Mazzola” because of his resemblance to Valentino Mazzola, the Brazilian-born striker joined AC Milan after winning the 1958 World Cup with Brazil. He played a key role in Milan’s European Cup triumph in 1963, scoring both goals in the final against Benfica. Altafini is one of the rare players to have won a World Cup with one national team and later represented another at a subsequent World Cup.

4. Giuseppe Meazza - 216 goals

A legendary figure at Inter, Giuseppe Meazza is often regarded as the first true football superstar in Italy. Known for his dribbling, vision, and influence on matches, he dominated Serie A during his era, mostly with Inter Milan. A serious injury at the age of 29 limited his later career, but his impact remained enormous. His status was such that he became one of the first players in Italy to sign personal advertising contracts.

3. Gunnar Nordahl - 225 goals

Gunnar Nordahl was a physically powerful striker and a nightmare for defenders, as he used to be a fire-fighter. He remains AC Milan’s all-time top scorer and boasts an exceptional scoring rate of around 0.77 goals per game in Serie A. Nordahl won the Capocannoniere award for most goals five times, a record that still stands. Before Immobile’s 36-goal season, Nordahl held the record for most goals in a single Serie A campaign, set in 1949/50.

2. Francesco Totti - 250 goals

Francesco Totti spent his entire career at AS Roma and became a symbol of loyalty in modern football. He won one Serie A title in 2001 but built a legacy that goes far beyond trophies. Totti is the highest goalscorer in Serie A history for a single club, with 250 goals for Roma. He also holds the record for the most assists in the league, highlighting his creativity and all-around attacking ability.

Silvio Piola is the all-time top goalscorer in Serie A history, with 274 goals in 537 matches. During his long career, he played for Pro Vercelli, Lazio, Juventus, and Novara. Despite his remarkable goalscoring record, he never won a Serie A title during his career.
